This is our local response to the Catholic Church's international Communications Day, born of the Second Vatican Council's document Inter mirifica (On the media of social communications, 1963)

A "social media" like Twitter is by its nature a two way street. It's not just "the hierarchy" preaching at the people, it is the Catholic people interacting with one another and listening to one another. Here are some of the things our parish community can do with Twitter:
- share prayer requests (#prayforoursick)
- hear parishioners' ideas and concerns
- announce schedule changes
- send reminders about important events
- inform about website updates and blog entries
- request rapid feedback on events, decisions etc.
- you can tweet to share about prayers answered
- you can follow news from Nativity in Darien wherever you are in the world
