On the weekend of July 26/27, Nativity parish will take up the collection for the Solidarity Fund for the Church in Africa, sponsored by the United States' Bishops. Although the Catholic Church is strong in Africa - almost 15% of the world's Catholics live there, and Africa has the largest seminaries in the world - the continent still suffers from chronic poverty, unemployment, and violence. The work of the Catholic Church is essential!
